Van Halen rock with ESPN

Rocking like no one else can, Van Halen jump to the sound of the new album

Van Halen are back!

The legendary David Lee Roth has returned to Van Halen for the first time since the 1984 album in 1983 which contained the legendary “Jump”.

The last time Roth joined Van Halen on a reunion tour it generated $100m so they’re big business in the music world.

To celebrate the new album release Van Halen have created some clever but very simple marketing tactics to spread the word of mouth, the greatest form of marketing there has ever been.

Van Halen have always been a down and dirty rock band that never forgot their roots. They used to book concerts at High Schools and hand out flyers in car parks to the next generation of club goers.

To launch their new and critically acclaimed album they booked the smallest club they could find, Café Wha? In New York with 250 people capacity. Only the most influential of rock critics were invited and as some include Slash from Guns n Roses the word of how great the gig was spread through the on line world like wild fire.

They have complimented that with tie us with brands like ESPN to showcase their content to the world. They are showcasing 6 tracks for ESPN.com viewers to listen and enjoy. They are also running concurrent Tattoo competition to find the best sports Tattoo contrived by David Lee Roth himself apparently! They are also running one for the ladys to show the sexiest Tattoo – now that I can believe Mr Roth came up with!
